Styling Your Wild Natural Curls

Don’t worry, though, we’ve got you covered. Here are some tips and tricks to help you tame your locks and embrace your natural curls.

Cleanse and Condition

First things first, cleanse and condition your hair with products that are specifically formulated for curly hair. Avoid using products that contain harsh ingredients, like alcohol or silicone, which can dry out your curls and cause frizz. And for the love of all that is holy, don’t over-wash your curls. Unless you’re trying to achieve the look of a poodle, let those oils do their thang.

Section Your Hair

Sectioning is key when it comes to styling curly hair. Think of your hair as a beautiful garden that needs to be tended to. Divide it into sections, starting from the bottom and working your way up. Clip each section in place, like you’re creating a curly-haired hedge. This will make it easier to style your curls and ensure that each section is properly defined. Plus, you’ll look like a mad scientist, which is always a bonus. * insert evil laugh here*

Choose the Right Products

When it comes to styling curly hair, there are more products than there are stars in the sky. Mousses, gels, creams, oh my! But fear not, we’ll help you navigate through the maze. Choose products that work with your hair type and desired style. First, prep your hair with a leave-in conditioner, then proceed to your styling product of choice. If you have fine hair, opt for lighter products that won’t weigh down your curls. If you have thick hair, choose products that will give your curls a hold that would make a politician envious.

Define Your Curls

Once you’ve got the right products, it’s time to define those curls. Apply a curl-defining product to each section of your hair, and use your fingers to work it through your curls. Scrunch your hair as you go to encourage curl formation. Don’t use a brush or comb after you have defined your curls, unless you’re going for the Hermione Granger look.

Don’t Overdo It

Don’t go overboard with the product, or you’ll look like you dunked your head in a vat of oil. Start with a small amount of product and add more as needed. And remember, curly hair is unpredictable, so embrace the imperfections and enjoy the ride. You might end up looking like a lion, but hey, who doesn’t love a good roar?

Time Management

Styling curly hair can take longer than a Game of Thrones episode, so make sure you have enough time to properly style your locks. Don’t rush the process, or you’ll end up with a frizzy mess. Take your time to properly cleanse, condition, and style your hair. And if you’re running late, just tell people that your hair has a mind of its own. It’s not your fault, you’re just a curly-haired victim of fate.

In conclusion, styling curly hair can be a bit of a wild ride, but with these tips and tricks, you’ll be the master of your curls in no time.
